I’ve wanted this chair for years, but was always hesitant to pull the trigger. I naturally move around a lot and when I worked in-office, my co-workers always pointed out all the crazy ways I’d sit in a chair. Phil Zen was amazing — they sent samples quickly, put together a quote, adjusted it so I could apply discounts and were responsive throughout the entire process. Very happy that I finally got this chair and it’s definitely improving my posture!
So comfortable, so modern and classic at the same time, and most importantly, so good for my posture and long-term health! I’m very pleased with my purchase and I recommend others do the same.
Have been using this chair for the past few days and really love the support it provides in so many different sitting positions. Phil Zen was great with the ordering and shipping process.
Store owner replied: Thank you for your feedback, Josh! We're glad your enjoying your new Capisco. The chair offer endless ways to sit or half stand for movement all-day to keep you healthy and productive. Cheers to a more healthy, creative and productive times ahead!
An all around hassle. My new leather Capisco seat has a big ripple that is. not smoothing out. Many emails with Phil Zen Co to try and sort it out, to no avail. I was then sent a replacement seat but I can’t install it myself. Difficult to get parts disassembled and I don't have the tools, so I am apparently out of luck. No simple exchange is offered apparently, and Phil Zen said they cannot help further. No reimbursement, no solution or repair. Would not buy from again.
Easy setup and adjustment instructions. It only took me 5-10min to put it together. It feels really solid and I love that it can extend to match my standing desk or shrink down and slide underneath. Decided to go with the ring attachment as well for my fatigued feet.
Store owner replied: Wow thank you for feedback, Marissa! Assembling Capisco chair can be done quickly as the chair is pre -assembled for your convenience. Your ergonomic workspace setup is stunning. We wish you a healthy, creative & productive times ahead!
I had terrible lower back pain, and it took months to figure out that it was due to my work chair. The HAG Capisco chair has changed my life. Back pain is now a small fraction of what it used to be. The Phil Zen Team's customer service (HAG also) is first class! The chair is well made and of good quality. The leather is very nice. I really liked the saddle option. This Capisco chair was worth every penny.
Store owner replied: Thank you for your feedback, Bryan! It was a pleasure. We are glad to hear that your HAG Capisco has serves its purpose especially with your back pain issues. The Capisco chair is all about healthy and productive sitting. Cheers to endless ways of sitting!
LOVE love love my Hapisco!! I am a habitual fidgeter and the first few moments in the Hapisco just felt immediately more right than any other chair! The Ace Aqua color is even more beautiful in person than I imagined!! BIG thanks to the team at PhilZen and Steph especially for their help, I'm so in love with this chair and its color! 💙🦋
Store owner replied: Thank you for you feedback, Misha. We are happy that you love your custom-made Ace Aqua Capisco chair, the wait was all worth it indeed! Wishing you very healthy, creative and productive times ahead.
Charting medical records after a long day nursing, is a whole new experience now with my Capisco saddle chair. I hope to do hospice nursing professionally until I am 80 years old. Keeping a big heart, an open mind, re-inventing every day, plus my Capisco chair, can make that possible. J 🌼
I am a fidgety person to begin with and the Capisco chair is like a big fidget toy. I am constantly switching positions, whether I go to standing, sitting, rocking, side-saddle or reverse-saddle positions. I ordered the black leather which really gives it a premium look and feel.
Store owner replied: Thank you for your feedback, Jason. Capisco is a great chair to keep you healthy and productive as you can make endless ways all-day to shift between sitting or half standing. Wishing you all the best!
This did not disappoint! I thrilled with the quality and feel of the chair overall and easy assembly!

Website made figuring out exactly what to order super easy. Wanted a leather finish which isn't available everywhere. Didn't take too long to arrive considering the chairs are made to order. Super easy to assemble and straight forward to adjust. Very much enjoying the Capisco so far!
Store owner replied: Thank you for you review, Peter! Wishing you very healthy, creative and productive times ahead.
Great experience buying this custom chair. I went back and forth about their custom leathers and their support was quick to respond and jumped through all the hoops in order for me to receive my chair. Build quality is great and much of it is metal, the distressed leather is soft and durable, and the firmness of the chair helps to keep me moving with my standing desk. Would recommend.
Store owner replied: Thank you for the review, Kenzo. Capisco chair is indeed build with quality and durable materials. It was a pleasure making sure you get the right chair of your choice. By the way, I like that leather fits perfectly with your desk and carpet! We wish you a healthy, creative and productive times ahead.
We will likely buy two more chairs in the coming months!!
this chair actually aligns my spine instead of misaligning it. mmmm alignment
Store owner replied: Thank you for your reviews, Anni Abigail. Capisco's multiple seat and backrest adjustments ensure higher comfort and perfect fit indeed. Wishing you very healthy, creative and productive times ahead!
The Hag Capisco Chair is comfortable while having a unique form. It is seat height adjustable, seat back adjustable, provides a certain degree of rocking and the seat can be pulled in and out. There are various upholstery options so there is a certain level of customization. The install is not as easy as advertised, but it is not too difficult either. The main issue derives from the delivery. The products came like it was dragged on asphalt. This is also after a month of waiting for the product due to supply chain issues. This was very upsetting but thankfully, the Phil Zen team responded right away and sent new parts free of charge. This did take another 2 weeks. When I received the replacement parts, I noticed it was wrapped more carefully than last time, but there were still minor paint chips due to the delivery. A suggestion would be to utilize packaging and boxes that are catered to this specific chair. The base does not lay flat in the box and it ends up tumbling within. Perhaps Styrofoam molded to the components of this chair to ensure pristine conditions. This is an expensive chair (nearly $1000) and the packaging should reflect that sticker price.
Store owner replied: Thank you very much for your feedback, Paul. We were happy to assist you with the situation. We have escalated the damage issue to HAG and are working with their warehouse team to make sure the chair is better packaged. Damages are rare but happen occasionnally. The production of the chair here in the US has started only last year and HAG is adjusting to the way carriers handle the boxes. Again thank you for your input. We wish you very healthy, creative and productive times ahead.
Such an ergonomic and unique chair. I love that I was able to customize it and I’m so happy with this purchase.
Store owner replied: Thank you very much for your feedback, Allison. It is indeed an exceptional chair, and we are glad that you love it! We are proud to offer unlimited customization options to ensure our customers find their perfect fit & design. We wish you very healthy, creative, and productive times ahead.
Has totally changed my productivity and the leather feels amazing. If you’re reading this, your search is over. What you are looking for is right here.
Store owner replied: Thank you very much for your feedback John! I love the setup! Glad the chair makes such an impact on your daily productivity! Wishing you very healthy, creative and productive times ahead!
I absolutely love this chair!! It's my first week using it, and it's already a huge improvement from my old Herman Miller chair that I could never get right. I had back pain and would always want to move around, which this chair is perfect for. I was worried the seat area would be small and not comfortable for sitting the whole day, but as a 5'4" 150lb woman, it is much bigger than I thought with lots of extra room! The saddle makes it less awkward for my thighs, which I realize might have been the problem with my old chair (too big?). I can imagine this chair would still be very comfortable for a bigger body. I highly recommend the footrest, especially if you have a standing desk. It just offers you much more flexibility in positions. The customer service was amazing. I spent months looking at other websites trying to find a good deal for this chair, but couldn't decide color/combo and if it was worth the price. Phil worked with me to customize this chair, and was extremely gracious and answered all of my many questions thoroughly!! He sent me a custom chair tool online, and I got to look at all the options and pick a custom color. I choose a fabric that was a poly blend to withhold durability over time and wouldn't lint. It's honestly perfect and everything I wanted. If you're going to invest in a piece of furniture you're looking at all day, you'd want it to fit into your style! Anyways, thank you so much Phil and team!! 10/10 would recommend and buy from you again.
Store owner replied: Thank you very much for your feedback, Jenny. Great choice of fabric. I am glad you didn't get overwhelmed by all the options. The Tailored fabric in Cypress color looks stunning. We are thrilled to hear the design of the chair really fits you. The open design offers so many options to sit. With your standing desk, you now have the most active setup possible! We wish you very healthy, productive, and creative times ahead!
Love this chair! Great for ergonomics and sitting at a desk all day for work.
Store owner replied: Thank you very much for sharing your feedback, Stephanie. It is indeed a great ergonomic and active chair! Keep moving and changing position as often as possible to stay healthy, creative & productive! Wishing you all the best!
The chair is awesome, and we’re considering buying another. The firm cushion and ergonomic shape, and smooth high quality spin and wheels are all very nice. The ability to go higher than most chairs is ideal for my setup.
Store owner replied: Thank you very much for sharing, Melody. We love your set up and can't agree more: It is a really amazing chair! Glad it works very well for you too! Wishing you very healthy, creative and productive times ahead!

It’s been a fabulous addition to our new home and the leather matches our headboard. It makes an office chair feel more like a designed object in the home.

I wish this chair came into my life sooner! It is a game changer. I suffer from back and neck pain pain from poor posture and terrible work habits. I’ve had this chair for a couple of weeks now and my back already feels much better. Sitting on it for a couple of hours straight automatically adjusts your posture, similar to wearing a posture correcting brace. Definitely worth the price!
Store owner replied: Glad you're enjoying your new Capisco chair, Chandrika! So agree, Capisco is a unique saddle shape that offers endless ways to sit or half stand for all-day movement to keep you healthy and productive while ensuring higher comfort and perfect fit. And by the way, you have the most fantastic view with your wfh set-up. Wishing you a healthy and productive day ahead!
The Latte colorway is much lighter than pictured, more of a taupe or very light beige
Store owner replied: Hello Kyle, Sorry to hear the color is not matching your expectations. Depending on the screen resolution used the rendering can change as not all devices are calibrated the same. There is indeed a bit of a gap between both colors. I have escalated the case to our supplier and am waiting to hear what they suggest. Thank you for your patience.
So far I'm enjoying exploring the ways I will be using the chair. I have so far sampled use of the chair while preparing food, while playing a board game, and I briefly used it at my standing desk. It will take a little time to adapt, but that process is pleasant enough.
Store owner replied: Thank you very much for your feedback Hannah Mathilde. It is indeed a versatile chair that works well in many situations! Movement is what will keep you well and alert. Wishing you very healthy, creative and productive times ahead with your Capisco
It’s a new and unique experience to have this chair, really love the design and how versatile it is.
Store owner replied: Thank you very much for sharing your feedback Jun! The chair looks stunning in this Camel leather! It is indeed a unique shape that offers endless ways to sit for movement all-day. The tilt movement also encourage engaging your core. Wishing you healthy, creative and productive times ahead
It has been my first proper office chair since I set myself up at home. I had chosen that chair for: + versatility with the opportunity to use it as a standard chair or a half-standing stool + movement with the tilting, swivel, and different postures you can take + the premium quality of a HAG chair I have been using the chair for over two years and have been a happy user. Now that I have tested many more ergonomic and active chairs from Varier to Salli and others, I can say that the Capisco is a great active and ergonomic chair. It offers many ways to sit like most of Peter Opsvik's designs and is therefore a fun companion. I am not surprised it is such a bestseller and iconic chair. It is a great transition from a traditional office chair, and offers so much more.
OMG - I've been searching for a comfortable chair that wouldn't hurt my lower back for years!!! I finally spent the money and took a chance - and after only two days of use, I am going to save up for a second! It's a gorgeous and substantial chair - 100% worth the price (I hope it survives a long time - that's the only thing I can't talk about - but fingers crossed)
Excellent!!!
Stylish, comfortable in several positions, and built to last!
My chair was delivered in a damage box. There wasn't enough packing to protect my chair. The plastic and parts were scratched.
Love this chair!
love the variety of sitting well worth it
The chair is very comfortable for hips and back while sitting for art projects. My desk is low so I really didn't need the foot ring. I am getting used to the larger base so the wheel area does not his my feet. The wheels move the chair very smoothly on my wooden floors. I really like the way the chair smoothly swivels and leans back. The adjustments are very easy to use. The chair is well designed.
Store owner replied: Thank you for your feedback, Christina. Welcome to the sitting revolution! We wish you a healthy, creative and productive times again.
Super easy to assemble, sturdy quality product, great fabric, very comfortable chair!
Store owner replied: Thank you for your review, Russell. I agree, it is a very comfortable chair and has many sitting options throughout the day to stay active. Wishing you very healthy, creative and productive times ahead!
Hi. Mostly happy. I was annoyed that the seat base was sent fully pushed in the outward position that is not in the manual. I spent a fair while working out how to pull it back through and slightly damaged the internals as I did so. It’s fine ultimately but I wasn’t loving that. I own an older HAG and I preferred the cloth on that model. Want sure what it was called so this be one feels a little odd but it’s still great. The box that the chair was sent in was not well protected. The seat was essentially pressed against cardboard with no protection beyond the plastic bag. There’s a small piece of broken plastic in the box that I can’t trace to a part but not a great feeling. I noticed also that the fabric stretch is not symmetrical. It’s not bad but it’s a detail that I thought I’d mention for completeness. The main complaint is the seat not being sent in the correct position to assemble. That’s annoying. Packaging also is a weak link. The chair luckily arrived ok and I’m happy to have another.
I absolutely love my new chair. I ordered the leather in Vapor, which is actually a nice light taupe/tan. It is not as grey as it looks in the mock up photos. Highly recommend. The Phil Zen team was great too. Very helpful and considerate of my concerns. They kept me updated each step of the order and I got a discount for signing up for emails!
Store owner replied: Thank you so much for your feedback, Kaitlin! Wishing you all the best.
Perfect solution for my tall aging physique!
Store owner replied: Thank you for your review Jord, glad you found your perfect chair. Wishing you all the best!
