Inspired by its mushroom-like appearance –" seta" is Spanish for mushroom. The latter part of the name, " go," alludes to the lamp's cordless structure, which means it can be used cord-free. Drawing inspiration from the artistry of a Japanese lantern. The workings remain hidden inside to keep the lamp's form clean and uncluttered despite such technology integration. The light it produces is equally considered – the mood is manipulated by a discreet brass dimmer that controls the diffused, ambient light.
Jaime Hayon was born in Madrid in 1974. The project that first brought him to the forefront of the design was his installations "Mediterranean Digital Baroque" and Mon Cirque." These blended the lines between design and art and led to subsequent exhibitions and shows at well-known galleries and art fairs worldwide.
Today Hayon Studio is headquartered in Valencia, Spain, and has offices in Barcelona and Treviso, Italy. The studio and Jaime have won numerous awards such as Elle Decoration International Design Award, "Top 100" by Wallpaper Magazine, and as a visionary by Times magazine.
